The jazz band classes at Rampello are made up of saxophones, trombones, trumpets, drum set, piano, guitar, and bass guitar players. The students in these ensembles receive training in jazz studies including improvisation, various jazz styles, and jazz theory.
The advanced jazz band (7th period) is the performing ensemble which is made up of the advanced players and perfomers through out the community, for school functions, and in down town. The group also performs at Music Performance Assessment which gives the students a chance to play for judges and be rated as an overall jazz band.
The begining jazz band class (1st period) learns the same materials as the advanced class but really concentrates on getting the concepts down. The ensemble will perforrm at The Dazzler, The Blazin' BBQ, and at Spring Fling.
