Dear Parent:

Rampello Downtown Partnership School is a school of choice.  The approval of Pupil Special Assignment or Open Choice is a courtesy granted by the School Board of Hillsborough County with the understanding that established standards for conduct, attendance and tardiness will be maintained.  It is one of our highest priorities to communicate these standards, along with our rules and procedures to ensure a safe, caring and orderly environment for all of our students and their families.

At the end of the school day students are released at 2:20 p.m.(Elementary) and 2:30 p.m. (Middle school).  It is expected that car riders are to be picked up immediately after school in the designated pick up area.  (Student Handbook 2006-2007).   After school is our time to conduct important school business such as parent conferences, faculty and staff meetings, tutoring and enrichment activities.  Late pickups interfere with these activities which are intended to support and increase student achievement.

At this time, we are instituting a late pickup policy.  Last week we sent a letter home notifying all families of  this policy.  As stated in the letter,  beginning  Monday, September 25, any student who has not been picked up during the designated dismissal time (2:20-2:50 p.m.) will be sent to the School Age Child Care program.   This program is located in the Rampello cafeteria and will provide after hours supervision for any student still on campus after 2:50.

The following steps are in place:
·       You are  receiving this letter as a first-time warning.
·       Second time: You will receive a second notice and will be charged a child-care fee as outlined below.
·       Third time: A child-care fee will be charged and you will receive a letter of revocation and will lose your child’s special assignment placement here at Rampello.

Please be aware of the following procedures :
1.      After 2:50 p.m. you must sign for your child at the SACC office located in cafeteria. Please bring photo identification.
2.      A fee of $10.00 per child per hour must be paid at that time.  Only cash will be accepted.   A minimum of one hour will be charged after 2:50 p.m.
3.      A SACC Instructor will call for your child to be released from his/her supervised group.

It is important to follow these established procedures- it is our number one priority to keep your child safe.  As always, we thank you for your support.   If you are interested in enrolling your child in School Age Child Care please stop by our SACC office after 2p.m.   If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 233-2333.

Sincerely,

Anthony Perrone
Principal
